Job summary

Coleg Cambria's Institute of Technology at Bersham Road, Wrexham, is seeking an experienced Instructor Demonstrator in Plumbing to support the delivery of high-quality practical learning.

Working within a modern workshop environment equipped with industry-standard tools, you will help learners develop practical skills, confidence and professional behaviours needed to progress into employment or further study.

Qualifications

• Qualified to a minimum of Level 3 or equivalent in Plumbing or a professionally relevant subject area.
• Relevant commercial or domestic plumbing experience.
• Able to confidently demonstrate practical plumbing skills and safe working practices to learners.
• Able to support the planning and delivery of effective practical workshop sessions that enhance learning.
• Demonstrate an understanding of current developments within plumbing and building services and ways of keeping up to date with such developments.
• Awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching, learning and assessment.
• Demonstrate a good level of IT competence, as well as being willing and able to learn how to use new IT packages and systems.
• Able to deal promptly and effectively with inappropriate behaviour in the classroom or workshop environment.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and support learners with a range of practical abilities.
• Able to maintain a safe, clean and well-organised practical working environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical plumbing workshop sessions and demonstrate safe working methods.
• Prepare tools, materials and equipment for lessons.
• Support learner progress and contribute to record keeping as required.
• Develop learners' technical skills in pipework, jointing, domestic plumbing systems and installation methods.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well-organised workshop environment.
