Job summary

AC Corporation is seeking a Plumbing Foreman to supervise a crew of plumbers in commercial or industrial settings. You will plan daily activities, ensure codes compliance, and manage materials and safety on-site.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in plumbing with 2+ years in leadership, a valid state/local plumbing license, and strong blueprint-reading skills. CPR/First Aid credentials are a plus. Competitive hourly pay and benefits offered.

• Minimum of 5 years plumbing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Valid plumbing license as required by local regulations; CPR/First Aid certification a plus.
• Strong ability to read blueprints, drawings and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise plumbers and apprentices to complete tasks on time and within budget.
• Plan, organize, and monitor daily plumbing crew activities per plans and codes.
• Ensure safety, quality control, and compliance with all regulations on site.
• Communicate with project managers, clients, and trades to maintain workflow and resolve issues.
• Manage materials, tools, inventory, and job-site logistics for efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot complex plumbing systems.

Job Description – Plumbing Foreman

Under the direction of the Plumbing Craft Superintendent, the Plumbing Foreman oversees and supervises the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems in commercial, or industrial settings. This role involves coordinating the work of plumbing crews, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to safety standards and codes. The Plumbing Foreman also ensures that quality control standards are maintained and that all plumbing work is performed in accordance with local building codes

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Supervision and Leadership:
  • Lead, supervise, and manage a team of plumbers and apprentices.
  • Assign tasks, ensure they are completed efficiently, and maintain a high level of quality.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to less experienced plumbers and apprentices.
  • Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork.
• Project Management:
  • Plan, organize, and monitor daily work activities for the plumbing crew.
  • Ensure that all plumbing systems are installed, repaired, or maintained according to project plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Manage job site logistics, materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Quality Control and Safety:
  • Perform regular inspections of work to ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Enforce workplace safety policies and ensure the team follow safe work practices.
  • Identify and resolve any quality issues or potential hazards on the job site.
• Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other trades to ensure smooth workflow and resolve any issues.
  • Provide progress updates and report any issues that may impact project timelines or costs.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any incidents or accidents that occur on the job site.
• Material Management:
  • Ensure that plumbing materials and equipment are ordered and delivered on time for the job.
  • Maintain an inventory of tools and materials to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for complex plumbing systems or issues.
  • Develop solutions to challenges or problems that arise on the job site.

Qualifications & Required Skills

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of plumbing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
• Licensing/Certification: Valid plumbing license (as required by state or local regulations). CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of plumbing systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance procedures. Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
• Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience managing teams, delegating tasks, and resolving conflicts.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and management.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex plumbing issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and lift heavy materials and equipment.

Additional Requirements:

• Experience in specialized plumbing services (e.g., gas systems, water treatment, medical/lab gas).
• Knowledge of advanced plumbing technologies and green energy systems.
• OSHA-30 and other applicable safety certifications.

Physical Requirements

• Sit, stand and walk up to 10 hours per day
• Climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds
• Ability to work up to 10 hours per day, 7 days per week, 50 weeks per year
• Ability to be on call 24 hours per day for emergencies
