Job summary

Rydon Maintenance is seeking a Maintenance Operative with a plumbing bias to join our NHS-focused facilities team at Sidcup, Kent. The role involves planned and reactive maintenance across NHS buildings, with duties spanning plumbing, light electrical tasks, carpentry and general upkeep.

Typical hours are 8:00–17:00, Monday to Friday, with an on-call rota offering additional earnings opportunities. A strong customer service ethos and health & safety awareness are essential for delivering

Qualifications

Experience in building maintenance, NHS setting preferred.
Plumbing experience desirable though not essential.
Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe systems of work.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Able to perform a range of maintenance tasks (plumbing, carpentry, electrics basics).

Responsibilities

Perform daily maintenance tasks as part of planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
Carry out plumbing, light electrical work, carpentry and general wear-and-tear maintenance.
Participate in on-call rota to respond to urgent repairs and increased earnings.
Ensure safety and comfort of service users in NHS facilities.
