Job summary

Mears Group in Peterborough is seeking an experienced Plumber to join our responsive repairs team in social housing. You will carry out a wide range of domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance tasks in occupied properties, from fixing leaks to servicing heating and drainage systems, ensuring safety and quality in every job.

You will work directly with residents, maintain professional standards, and contribute to improving housing standards.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence required.
• Proven experience in domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service, especially in occupied homes.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.
• Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record work.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours emergency rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive plumbing repairs in occupied properties.
• Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, and drainage issues.
• Replace taps, toilets, cisterns, basins and other sanitary ware.
• Repair or replace pipework, valves and fittings.
• Investigate and resolve issues with hot water systems and radiators.
• Ensure all work complies with current plumbing regulations and health and safety standards.
• Record job details, materials used and completion notes using handheld devices.
• Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle in good working order.
