Job summary

Mears Group is recruiting a Plumber in Cambridge to support a busy social housing repairs contract. You will perform a range of plumbing tasks in occupied properties, from fixing leaks to maintaining hot water systems, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

The role requires independence, reliability, and the ability to work with residents on-site. The successful candidate will have a Full UK driving licence, provide their own hand tools, and be comfortable using handheld devices

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic repairs and maintenance in a plumbing position.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent customer service skills, with experience working in occupied homes.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Provide own hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Carry out responsive plumbing repairs in occupied properties.
• Diagnose and repair leaks, blockages, and drainage issues.
• Replace taps, toilets, cisterns, basins, and other sanitary ware.
• Repair or replace pipework, valves, and fittings.
• Investigate and resolve issues with hot water systems and radiators.
• Record job details, materials used, and completion notes using handheld devices or job sheets.
• Work respectfully in residents’ homes, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Identify and report any additional works or safeguarding concerns.
• Participate in the out-of-hours emergency rota when required.
