Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking an experienced Plumber to join our Construction Services UK team in Birmingham. You will deliver high-quality plumbing and mechanical installation activities on major infrastructure projects while promoting safe working practices and operational excellence.

As a key site team member, you will provide technical expertise, support project delivery and help drive a culture of Right First Time, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified plumber or mechanical fitter or equivalent trade qualification.
• Demonstrable experience delivering plumbing installations, repairs and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
• Ability to take ownership of tasks and work with minimal supervision.
• Flexible hours including nights and weekends when required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems and pipework.
• Support planning and delivery of temporary plumbing works solutions.
• Work with Work Package Plans, Risk Assessments, Task Briefings and toolbox talks.
• Identify hazards and implement safe controls and safe systems of work.
• Promote values and a culture of Zero Harm and quality workmanship.
• Ensure plant and tools are safe, maintained and fit for use.
• Monitor workmanship standards and drive continuous improvement.
• Support environmental and sustainability objectives across project delivery.
