Job summary

Rugby Borough Council is seeking a skilled Multi Trader with strong plumbing as their primary trade and carpentry as a secondary trade. The role covers responsive repairs and maintenance in domestic properties, with independent work in occupied homes and a target to complete many repairs on the first visit.

You will perform a range of plumbing and carpentry tasks, maintain records, and work safely. A full UK driving licence is essential; a company van is provided for work purposes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic plumbing as the primary trade.
• Experience delivering responsive repairs in domestic properties.
• Practical carpentry skills as a secondary trade.
• Experience repairing bathrooms and kitchens.
• Ability to identify and repair leaks and waste pipes.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with a varied workload.
• Comfort working in occupied residential properties.
• Customer-focused approach with a high standard of workmanship.
• Good IT basics; training on Council systems provided.
• Full, valid UK driving licence is essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out domestic plumbing repairs and maintenance.
• Repair bathrooms and kitchens; replace taps and sanitary ware.
• Identify and fix leaks; repair waste pipes and drainage.
• Perform plumbing fault finding and remedial work.
• Carry out carpentry repairs where required and handle first-visit repairs.
• Work safely in occupied properties and keep records using IT systems.
