Job summary

Weston College Group is seeking a Plumber to provide maintenance and repair services on heating and hot/cold water systems, sanitary ware, internal plumbing and drainage, and ventilation plant. The post holder will mainly be based at the Knightstone Campus but will cover campuses across Weston College Group.

This is a full-time role at 37 hours per week with a shift allowance of £1,000 per annum. Duties include planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, and occasional installations, plus

• Recognised City & Guilds or NVQ 3 apprenticeship in plumbing, HVAC, Engineering Maintenance or related subject.
• Full driving licence.
• Ability to work on own initiative.

• Undertake planned and reactive maintenance and repair on mechanical building services equipment across Weston College estate.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, locate and repair faults and take responsibility for tasks.
• Undertake small installation/alteration work as part of refurbishment or change of use.

Job description

We are looking for a Plumber! To provide maintenance and repair services on a diverse range of building services, including heating systems, hot and cold water systems, sanitary ware, internal plumbing & drainage, and ventilation plant.

The post holder will primarily be based at the Knightstone Campus, however cover and maintenance tasks will be conducted across the Weston College Group campuses.

This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week.

Due to the shift work nature of this role, you will receive a shift allowance of £1,000 per annum.

From time-to-time maintenance staff may be required to move large or heavy objects, mechanical aids will be used where possible

• To undertake both planned and reactive maintenance and repair tasks on a wide range of mechanical building services plant and equipment across Weston College estate and when required be expected to source and collect spares.
• Be able to investigate, troubleshoot, locate and repair faults, and take full responsibility for specific tasks, and any other aspects that may affect those tasks.
• When required, undertake small installation / alteration work as part of building refurbishment or change of use. This element of work is not routine and therefore will only make up a small element of work duties, as and when available.
• Must be able to commit to covering on-call duties on a rota basis to provide an out-of-hours emergency / first response service 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

Required skills and qualifications

• To have served a recognised City & Guilds or NVQ 3 apprenticeship in plumbing, HVAC, Engineering Maintenance or an appropriate engineering discipline or related subject.
• Full driving licence.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
