Job summary

Dalkia UK is recruiting experienced Plumbers to join the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital project. You will install to drawings, perform POWRAs, and support safety on site with a strong team focus. The role involves a 37.5-hour week with overtime, site hours 07:30–18:00 Mon–Thu and a half day on Friday.

Lodgings are fully covered when required under PJIB rules. Rates under the PJIB Working Rule Agreement start at £16.71 per hour for Plumbers and £19.46 per hour for Advanced Plumbers, with pay

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of the Plumbing trade to Craftsman/Technician Level 3 per PJIB/BESA standards
• Relevant VQ Level 3 qualification in Plumbing
• Ideally 5+ years site experience on building services projects
• Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental systems and procedures
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
• Positive, proactive approach with a focus on health and safety
• GCSE level Maths, English and ICT desirable
• IPAF preferable

Responsibilities

• Carry out a Point of Work Risk Assessment (POWRA) at the beginning of each day and on any task change
• Attend and implement safety guidance from Toolbox Talks (TBT) and Daily Action Briefs (DAB)
• Install to design drawings and contract specifications
• Keep working areas free of waste and safe to work in
• Ensure materials are available to the wider trade team through the site supervisor
• Demonstrate correct and safe use of site tools and equipment
• Work to project plans and schedules
• Support and guide apprentices and less experienced operatives
• Undertake any other duties that reasonably occur on site

Plumbers – Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital

We are recruiting experienced Plumbers to join our multi-skilled construction team working on the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital project. As part of our national talent pool, you'll play a key role delivering mechanical building services installations to the highest standard on a major healthcare construction project.

This role forms part of our national talent pool. Where you are required to work away from home, lodgings are costs paid as part of the working rule agreement.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support and guide apprentices and less experienced operatives where required
• Undertake any other duties that reasonably occur on site

What You'll Need to Bring

• In-depth knowledge of the Plumbing trade to Craftsman/Technician Level 3, in line with PJIB/BESA standards of training
• Relevant VQ Level 3 qualification in Plumbing, in line with recognised industry standards
• Ideally 5+ years' Building Services construction site experience in a project-based environment
• Sound knowledge of health, safety and environmental systems and procedures
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work unsupervised and as part of a team
• A positive, proactive approach and a strong focus on health and safety
• Good general standard of education (GCSE level Maths, English and ICT desirable)
• IPAF Preferable

Rate of Pay & Working Arrangements

Plumber (PJIB Working Rule Agreement): £16.71 per hour

Advanced Plumber (PJIB Working Rule Agreement): £19.46 per hour

Rate applied dependent on experience and qualifications

37.5-hour contracted working week; overtime rates apply for all hours worked above this — there is a lot of overtime available on this project

Site hours are generally 07:30–18:00 Monday to Thursday, with a half day on Friday
