Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is seeking a skilled Kitchen Fitter to operate across Basingstoke and Newbury. You will install kitchens in occupied social housing, removing and replacing units and worktops while performing carpentry, plumbing and tiling tasks. A company van and fuel are provided, with 40-hour weeks and a 8am-5pm schedule.

The role offers a temp-to-perm path after 16 weeks and a permanent salary of £36,000-£38,000 if extended. DBS may be arranged. Interviews are conducted via Teams.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned kitchen installations across occupied social housing properties.
• Completing kitchen fitting works, including removal and installation of units and worktops.
• Undertaking carpentry work as core trade.
• Completing associated plumbing works, including fitting sinks and connecting appliances.
• Carrying out tiling works, including splashbacks and other kitchen finishes.
• Completing multi-trade repairs where required.
• Working in occupied properties and minimising disruption to residents.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
• Keeping work areas clean and tidy.
• Completing relevant job sheets and paperwork.

Job description

Kitchen Fitter role covering Basingstoke and Newbury, paying £23 per hour + company van and fuel, with the opportunity to go permanent after 16 weeks on a salary of £36,000-£38,000.

This is a planned works role, ideal for someone with a strong background in carpentry, alongside experience in plumbing, tiling and kitchen fitting. You'll be working across occupied social housing properties, delivering kitchen installations and associated works to a high standard.

As a Kitchen Fitter, you will be:

• Carrying out planned kitchen installations across occupied social housing properties.
• Completing kitchen fitting works, including the removal and installation of units and worktops.
• Undertaking carpentry work as your core trade.
• Completing associated plumbing works, including fitting sinks and connecting appliances.
• Carrying out tiling works, including splashbacks and other kitchen finishes.
• Completing associated multi-trade repairs where required.
• Working in occupied properties and minimising disruption to residents.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
• Keeping work areas clean and tidy.
• Completing relevant job sheets and paperwork.

• Strong carpentry experience, ideally as their core trade.
• Previous experience in kitchen fitting and planned works.
• Experience in plumbing and tiling.
• Social housing experience is preferred, although similar domestic maintenance experience will be considered.
• Experience working in occupied properties.
• The ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
• A professional and customer-focused approach.
• A full UK driving licence with 6 points or fewer.
• A DBS - if you don't currently have one, this can be arranged.
• Availability to start quickly.

The role is offering:

• £23 per hour
• Company van + fuel
• 40 hours per week
• Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm with 1-hour break
• No standard overtime or call-out requirement
• Temp-to-perm opportunity after 16 weeks
• £36,000-£38,000 permanent salary
