We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Plumber at HMP Deerbolt, Bowes Road, Barnard Castle DL12 9BG.

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week. Staff are required to work on a rota basis between 07:30 and 16:00 Monday to Thursday; 07:30 and 15:00 Friday; 07:30 and 15:30 Saturday to Sunday. There will be a need to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.

At Amey, we support our justice client, His Majesty's Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), by providing safe, clean, and efficient prisons. We leverage our facilities management expertise to keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales operational.

Responsibilities include:

  • Routine and non-routine maintenance
  • Mains water supply repairs
  • Fault finding, identifying life-expired equipment, checking, repairing, and making good faults
  • Inspections, water sampling, and risk assessments

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Full driving licence
  • Experience in a commercial environment
  • Experience operating light plant
  • NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing and Heating preferred (NVQ Level 2 may be considered)
  • Legionella Control (L8) desirable
