Job summary

Shoesmiths Solicitors is seeking a conveyancing assistant to join our residential conveyancing team. You will assemble contract packs, handle pre-contract enquiries, and assist with exchange and completion steps for property transactions.

You will work across the Real Estate team, dealing with Land Registry filings, SDLT returns, and related admin tasks. A collaborative, detail-focused approach is essential, with opportunities to support across offices.

Qualifications

• Experience in preparing contract packs and pre-contract enquiries.

Responsibilities

• Issuing and preparing contract packs on the basis of standard documents after receipt of memorandum of sale.
• Dealing with pre-contract enquiries under supervision where required.
• Processing exchange of contracts.
• Dealing with Part exchange purchases and resales.
• Preparation of completion statements.
• Completion procedures.
• Undertaking Land Registry Applications for the broader property team.
• Completing on line SDLT returns for the broader Real Estate team.
• Use of Land Registry online.
• Procurement of conveyancing searches.
• Handling incoming calls and post.
• Opening of files.
• Preparation of bills.
• Use of the Document Production System or replacements.
• Producing spreadsheets/reports in Word/Excel.
• Support for the wider Real Estate team occasionally.
