Job summary

Ganymede Solutions is seeking an experienced PLC/Controls/Automation Engineer for a technically challenging water-industry project. You will join a multidisciplinary team in London, delivering hands-on input across PLC/SCADA, control systems, instrumentation and electrical engineering to support project delivery.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Experience supporting FAT, SAT, testing and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the design and delivery of PLC and control system solutions.
• Providing technical input into automation, controls and EICA engineering activities.
• Reviewing and developing control philosophies, functional specifications and technical documentation.
• Working with PLC/SCADA systems, instrumentation and associated control equipment.
• Reviewing electrical, instrumentation and control drawings and identifying interfaces or potential issues.
• Supporting PLC software development, modification and testing where required.
• Working with engineers, contractors, suppliers and site teams to resolve technical and integration issues.
• Supporting FAT, SAT, testing, commissioning and site activities.
• Ensuring control and instrumentation requirements are properly coordinated throughout project delivery.
• Troubleshooting control, automation and instrumentation issues and providing practical engineering solutions.
• Supporting project delivery from design through to installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Ensuring engineering activities meet the required water industry, quality, safety and technical standards.
• Working closely with other disciplines including electrical, mechanical, process and project engineering.

Rate: £45 £55 per hour Outside IR35
Initial Contract: 6 months extension highly likely

PLC, Controls or EICA Engineer looking for your next contract?

If you're a PLC Engineer, Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer, EICA Engineer or Control Systems Engineer with strong water industry experience, this could be an excellent opportunity to get involved in a technically interesting project in Leicester.

We're looking for an experienced controls professional who can bring hands-on technical knowledge across PLC/SCADA, control systems, instrumentation and electrical engineering, supporting the delivery of a major water industry project.

With a rate of £45 £55 per hour Outside IR35 and an initial 6-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension, this is well suited to an experienced contractor coming towards the end of a project or looking for their next challenge.

The role

You'll be working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering and project team, providing technical input across the control, automation, instrumentation and electrical elements of the project.

Your responsibilities are likely to include:

• Supporting the design and delivery of PLC and control system solutions.


• Providing technical input into automation, controls and EICA engineering activities.


• Reviewing and developing control philosophies, functional specifications and technical documentation.


• Working with PLC/SCADA systems, instrumentation and associated control equipment.
