Coram’s Fields in London is seeking a Play Worker to support our Out of School Club and Holiday Schemes, delivering high quality childcare for children aged 4-12. This fixed-term, part-time role contributes to a vibrant, inclusive programme at a central London site.

You will plan engaging activities, supervise groups, liaise with parents, and assist with transport to activities while upholding safeguarding and OFSTED standards. DBS checks apply.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the effective running of Coram’s Fields OSC and Holiday schemes by providing high quality, needs led support to young people aged 4-12.
• Plan, develop and deliver activities fully inclusive for after school and holiday programmes for children aged 4-12.
• Be part of a team responsible for transporting young people from local primary schools to Coram’s Fields OSC and for off site trips.
• Work effectively as a key worker; provide support to EYFS children and CIN.
• Work independently and collectively to address negative behaviour with positive short and long term solutions.
• Liaise with parents/guardians regarding child progress and support their personal, social, educational and emotional needs.
• Lead on elements of the programme; research, deliver and evaluate activities and projects.
• Attend briefing meetings and contribute to evaluations of impact and success of programmes.
• Creatively involve young people in planning and development of activities.
• Find new and innovative ways to collect feedback from young people and parents.
• Prepare rooms for activities and ensure spaces are ready.
• Ensure children are effectively supervised at all times.
• Administer medication where necessary (subject to appropriate training and support).
• Be a positive role model for young people.
• Ensure compliance with Coram’s Fields’ policies, OFSTED guidelines and safeguarding legislation.
• Liaise with external agencies as appropriate.
• Take part in outreach and actively promote the Out of School Club service.
