Job summary

Dorridge Primary School invites applications for a Playworker to cover two weekday teatime shifts. The role is permanent term-time, part-time with hours 3:15pm–6:00pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. You will help deliver engaging activities and work as part of a dedicated school team.

We value safeguarding, positive relationships with children and families, and close collaboration with teaching staff to support the whole school ethos and development goals.

Responsibilities

• Implement a varied range of activities meeting children’s developmental needs.
• Set up and clear away to ensure the facility is ready for use.

• Liaise with class teachers to respond to children’s needs.

Grade: Start Contract: Permanent, term time (38 weeks), part time

Hours of Work: Wednesday and Thursday: Teatime Club: 3:15pm - 6:00pm

We wish to appoint a Playworker to cover two of our weekday shifts.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

• Implementing a varied, stimulating and exciting range of activities that meet the children’s developmental needs
• Ensuring the facility is ready for use, by setting up and clearing away
• Working as part of a highly motivated and professional team
• Establishing positive relationships with children and their families
• Working in close partnership with all school staff and support the whole school ethos

The ideal candidate will be able to:

• adhere to and promote all school policies
• safeguard children and promote health and safety
• promote good practise in a professional and inclusive manner
• Maintain a close liaison with class teachers in order to be aware of and respond appropriately to the needs of all children in your care
• take responsibility for personal professional development, including participation in own annual appraisal, any necessary training, and keeping abreast of all current issues relating to providing this service
