Job summary

Ashbrook School in Milton Keynes is hiring a permanent playworker to support outdoor play during the midday breaks, 5 hours per week, term time only.

You will supervise pupils, enable safe, creative play, and assist with equipment handling and basic personal care, including first aid where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising children during lunch/play times.
• Basic first aid knowledge and ability to respond to minor injuries.
• Ability to encourage safe, creative outdoor play.
• Willingness to work term-time only.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during midday play outside.
• Provide safe, creative and age-appropriate play opportunities.
• Organise, maintain and clean play equipment and ensure safe storage.
• Support behaviour standards in line with school policies.
• Assist with transitions between indoor and outdoor areas and help with setup.

Salary £25583 (full time equivalent) Actual salary £2923

Lunchtimes are an important part of the school day. We are looking for someone to join our established, friendly team to help our children have a happy and safe lunchtime. We are looking to employ playworkers to support our outdoor play initiative which encourages high quality outdoor play and is an important part of children's development.

Key objectives of the role:

• Supervise pupils' play activities outside during their midday break


• Oversee play activities to enhance pupils free time, providing safe, creative, and appropriate play opportunities


• Organise, maintain and clean play equipment, ensuring safe storage


• Maintain standards of behaviour that comply with the school's behaviour and play policies


• Supervise the transition of pupils from internal to external areas


• Set up and storage or portable equipment/resources


• Carry out personal care, hygiene and first aid duties
