Job summary

AP Education provides personalised, one-to-one Alternative Provision for children and young people who face barriers to education. We are seeking creative, playful and compassionate SEND Tutors across Swindon and surrounding areas to support children of EYFS age or those working at an EYFS developmental level.

Deliver face-to-face, one-to-one support tailored to each child's development, interests and communication needs using play-based learning, sensory activities, and communication

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly communication or early developmental needs.
• An understanding of play-based, child-led learning.
• Creativity and confidence adapting activities to individual needs.
• A playful, patient and compassionate approach.
• The ability to recognise and celebrate small steps of progress.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.

Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face, one-to-one support tailored to each child's developmental level, interests and communication needs.
• Develop functional communication so children can express choices, needs and feelings.
• Use play-based learning to encourage curiosity, interaction and early skills.
• Explore sensory play, music, movement, stories and creative activities.
• Support attention, turn-taking and shared play where appropriate.
• Embed learning into everyday activities and routines.
• Record progress and collaborate with the Education Coordinator towards individual outcomes.
