Part Time Inclusion Play worker

Job Purpose

To provide for the social emotional physical and recreational needs of children by establishing a safe creative and stimulating environment for childrens play.

To assist the Inclusion project manager in the day to day running of the Childrens Play Centre.

Key Duties
  1. To promote childrens development including those with Disabilities through interaction using a wide range of play activities including arts crafts games sports drama music adventure and Centre activities.
  2. To plan in conjunction with children and their carers a daily programmed of activities on or off-site.
  3. To be responsible for the personal care and welfare and supervision of children during on or off-site activities.
  4. To be responsible for monitoring and evaluation daily record keeping for all children that have disabilities writing and updating end of session reports and ensuring the safe keeping of all such data.
  5. To participate in the planning and organization of holidays community events and day trips with the users and local community in liaison with the Inclusion Project Manager and Centre Manager.
  6. To establish and maintain links with local schools youth projects and other community groups to maintain and develop mutual support to maximize childrens play opportunities.
  7. To participate in promoting and publicizing the sites activities and assist with fund raising and sponsorships.
  8. To participate in organising site repairs and maintenance in conjunction with the Manager
  9. To be responsible for all statutory obligations arising from the use of the Centre including Health & Safety and similar legislation. To ensure that the building and the site are clean and secure and that all equipment and play structures are well maintained and in a safe condition.
  10. To participate in any other dutys given
Team Responsibilities
  1. To participate in staff meetings and training and actively contributing to the effective operation of the staff team.
Administration
  1. To participate in site based administration duties and on care service sites to operate a registration system.
  2. To keep clear and accurate records
