Job summary

Romans Field School is seeking a caring and patient support assistant to help pupils during breaks and unstructured times, fostering social skills and independence within a nurturing environment.

You will supervise play at breaks, provide safe activities, and assist pupils with transitions between spaces. The role includes caring duties and teamwork within a supportive school staff group.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with complex needs.
• Able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Willing to work as part of a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils’ play activities at break and lunchtime.
• Provide safe, creative and stimulating play opportunities that enhance pupils’ free time.
• Organise, maintain, clean and safely store play equipment and resources.
• Support pupils as they transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.
• Set up, pack away and store portable equipment as needed.
• Carry out intimate/personal care and hygiene duties with dignity and compassion.
