Job summary

AMETEK is hiring a Laboratory Technician for our Ramsgate facility. You will perform chemical analyses of plating tanks, monitor bath conditions, and ensure compliance with environmental and quality standards.

The role supports production teams, maintains lab equipment, and contributes to audits and safety initiatives. The ideal candidate has a chemistry-related degree, strong titration and spectrophotometry skills, and familiarity with ISO/environmental standards.

Qualifications

Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Environmental Science or related field.
Understanding of plating chemistry: chrome, nickel, zinc, copper and additives.
Proficiency in titration, gravimetric analysis, spectrophotometry and pH/conductivity measurements.
Experience analysing laboratory data and identifying process trends.
Ability to use AI tools to improve productivity and decision-making.

Responsibilities

Perform and oversee chemical analysis of plating tanks (chrome, cadmium, nickel, silver, copper).
Monitor plating bath conditions against operating specs and report results.
Identify and investigate out-of-spec results and implement corrective actions.
Support production with technical advice on tank maintenance and performance.
Coordinate laboratory schedules and maintain quality standards.
Maintain equipment, calibration records and chemical inventory.
