Job summary

VBeyond Europe is seeking a Platform Engineering Lead/Platform Architect in London to lead a small team and own production readiness across AWS and Kubernetes. You will drive architecture decisions, ADR governance, and secure vendor integrations while setting CI/CD standards and runbooks for a scalable, compliant platform.

The role demands hands-on experience with AWS, EKS, Terraform, GitOps, and a strong focus on PKI, mTLS, OAuth2/OIDC, and observability.

Qualifications

• Lead a small platform engineering team with design reviews, PRs and onboarding.
• Own production readiness, DR testing, pen-testing and remediation.
• Run the platform using AWS, EKS, Terraform, GitOps and observability tools.
• Manage vendor connectivity, security, certificates and identity.
• Write and defend ADRs at governance boards.
• Set CI/CD standards and release gates with central engineering.
• Plan with Jira backlog, report status and raise risks early.
• Support onboarding of new services onto the platform.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes at scale and runbooks.
• Strong grounding in PKI, mTLS, OAuth2/OIDC and edge security.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a small platform engineering team.
• Take the platform live with production readiness and security ownership.
• Operate platform stack: AWS, EKS, Terraform, GitOps, observability.
• Manage vendor connectivity, security and certificate lifecycle.
• Draft and defend architecture decisions at governance boards.
• Define CI/CD standards and release gates.
• Report progress, costs and risks; support delivery partners.
• Hands-on work across AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform at scale.
• Ensure incident management and DR processes are in place.
• Communicate across security, architecture and vendor stakeholders.
