Job summary

Lorien is seeking a Platform Engineer in Edinburgh or Glasgow to join a growing team focused on turning manual infrastructure work into automated, self-serve platform tooling. The role emphasizes Terraform and Azure DevOps, with an opportunity to learn and contribute to large-scale cloud solutions.

You will help shape a modern platform with shared services, templates, and runbooks, and will work with senior engineers to grow into bigger ownership. Hybrid working is available.

Responsibilities

• Split time between hands-on build work and collaborating with dependent teams.
• Own platform work end to end from build through testing, docs and handover.
• Define done criteria including testing, rollback, and post-launch support.
• Write and maintain automation pipelines for cloud environments.
• Build reusable templates, modules and runbooks for broader use.
• Involve in design discussions and code reviews with more senior engineers.
• Flag risks early and present options rather than problems.
• Keep documentation current for future maintenance.
