Job summary

Ashby is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to own core platform components, scale our infrastructure, and build reliable, secure systems used by top customers. You will design and optimize the DSL-to-SQL compiler, implement guardrails for data privacy, and work with engineering to enable safe, rapid deployment across services.

You should be comfortable with event-driven architecture, data warehouses, and debugging complex, high-scale systems, while balancing reliability with developer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience building platform infrastructure to support product developers.
• Experience with SQL-based query optimization and data tooling.
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and data warehouses.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end platform projects with minimal oversight.
• Build tools and guardrails for security and data privacy.
• Enable safe and rapid feature delivery via canary deploys and feature flags.
• Define SLOs and SLIs for platform reliability and user experience.
• Ensure retries and circuit-breakers in external service communication.
• Scale infrastructure to support millions of data points and high throughput.
