Job summary

Altech Group Ltd in Stockport is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build and scale a modern cloud platform used by millions of users. You will work with Kubernetes, Terraform and GCP to improve automation, developer tooling and platform reliability, in an engineering-first environment.

This hybrid role involves on-site work in Stockport and exposure to AI, multi-cluster deployments and state-of-the-art tooling.

Qualifications

• Containers experience with Kubernetes or Docker
• Terraform or other IaC experience
• CI/CD experience

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable cloud-native infrastructure on GCP
• Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Improve automation, deployment pipelines and operational efficiency
• Build self-service platform tooling for development teams
• Work closely with Software Engineers to deliver reliable platform solutions
• Improve platform security, monitoring and reliability
• Participate in a paid on-call rota supporting platform availability

A product-led consumer technology business is looking for a Platform Engineer to help build and scale a modern cloud platform supporting millions of users across the UK. Working in an engineering-first environment, you'll play a key role in improving infrastructure, developer experience and platform reliability.

This is the ideal role for a Platform Engineer that likes to work with the latest and greatest, likes varied ranging work, and wants to experiment with new technologies.

They have a huge pipeline of work, in modern technologies. For example AI, multi-cluster Kubernetes at scale /Docker work, Terraform, Python, ArgoCD, Flux, Cloud (GCP), Next-gen Networking & Observabilit.

They are an engineering-first organisation where you'll help shape a modern cloud-native platform used by millions of people. You'll work with Kubernetes, Terraform and GCP to build scalable infrastructure, improve developer tooling and continue evolving the platform as the business grows.
