Job summary

CBSbutler is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer with DV clearance to join a high-profile UK Defence AI programme in London. You will design, deploy and maintain secure infrastructure in a cloud-native environment using Kubernetes, AWS/Azure and VMware.

The role involves working on secure, mission-critical systems with a modern tech stack and a collaborative engineering culture. On-site work in London and a daily rate of £550–£650 are offered.

Qualifications

• DV clearance is required.
• Proven platform/DevOps experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience and containerised environments.
• Cloud familiarity with AWS and/or Azure.
• Knowledge of VMware technologies.
• Automation and scripting skills, ideally with Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure in a cloud-native stack.
• Build and support platform environments for mission-critical workloads.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Ensure security and reliability for the UK Defence AI programme.

We're looking for an experienced DV Cleared Platform Engineer to join a high-profile programme delivering cutting-edge AI capabilities for UK Defence. Working in partnership with the Ministry of Defence through our Managed Services team, you'll play a key role in building and supporting the platforms that underpin one of the UK's most significant AI initiatives.

You'll be working with a modern, cloud-native technology stack, helping to design, deploy and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure in a highly collaborative engineering environment.

What You'll Bring

• Active DV (Developed Vetting) clearance
• Strong experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer

• Knowledge of VMware technologies
• Automation and scripting skills, ideally with Python
• Experience supporting secure, mission-critical environments
