Job summary

Opticore IT is seeking Platform Engineers to join our London-area team on a six‑month contract, inside IR35, with two days on-site weekly. The role focuses on AWS/PaaS platform engineering, IaC (CloudFormation) and automation using Puppet and PowerShell, with a mix of Windows and Linux environments.

You will drive automation across multi-cloud and on‑prem workloads, build CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), and participate in on‑call rotations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience with AWS PaaS & Public Cloud Platform Engineering.
• PowerShell automation experience with API integration.
• Operational experience with Windows Server or Linux stacks.

Responsibilities

• Provision, scale and optimise cloud infra across AWS/Azure/GCP and on‑premise.
• Develop Enterprise Platforms via IaC (CloudFormation) and Puppet.
• Administer Windows Server and Linux (RHEL/ Rocky) via automation.
• Operate cloud services (AWS FSx, S3, EC2) daily.
• Support VDI via AWS WorkSpaces and AppStream.
• Build CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Participate in on‑call rota and change management.
• Codify infrastructure automation using Puppet, PowerShell and Python.
• Provide consultancy and document non‑functional requirements.
