Job summary

Gibson Dunn in London is seeking a Platform Engineer to build reusable platforms, tools, and services that boost developer productivity and standardize engineering practices across the firm.

The role writes and ships the code behind the internal developer platform, building and maintaining self-service tooling, infrastructure-as-code modules, pipeline definitions, and automation across CI/CD, cloud, and observability, and participating in the team’s on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Proficiency writing production-quality code in Go and Python (plus PowerShell/Bash).
• Experience building pipelines-as-code (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Hands-on with Terraform, Ansible, Helm and GitOps concepts.
• Cloud and Kubernetes experience (AWS or Azure).
• Familiar with observability tools and basic SRE practices.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain self-service tooling, CLIs, libraries, and templates as tested code.
• Contribute features and fixes to the internal platform and portal via PRs.
• Provide day-to-day developer support and triage platform requests.
• Support AI workloads with platform patterns and governance.
