I am working with a growing professional services client that is looking to hire a Senior Platform Engineer passionate about automation and deploying and optimizing cloud infrastructure in AWS.

This senior role offers a fantastic opportunity to shape, deliver, design, and secure the organization's AWS cloud infrastructure, acting as a bridge between development and infrastructure teams.

Only candidates with experience in a compliant multi-account cloud environment and capable of leading senior-level solution design and delivery will be considered.

The position is fully remote for UK-based applicants.

Responsibilities:

• Design secure, scalable solutions within AWS.
• Implement AWS infrastructure security best practices.
• Manage identity and access management tools.
• Implement Cloud Security Governance with AWS Control Tower and Security Hub, including governance controls and threat detection.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation and AWS CDK.
• Drive automation for provisioning, alerting, and scaling.
• Optimize solutions for cost efficiency using AWS Cost Explorer and Trusted Advisor.
• Manage monitoring and alerting systems like CloudWatch.
• Lead troubleshooting for complex incidents and design solutions.
• Ensure the organization’s roadmap aligns with new AWS features and services.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to infrastructure and development teams.

Experience Required:

• At least 5 years of senior platform engineering experience.
• Extensive experience in AWS Serverless environments, including AWS Lambda and API Gateway.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of AWS security, encryption, and IAM policies.
• Experience with database technologies like Redshift, DynamoDB, Aurora, or similar.
• Experience with contact platform services, ideally AWS Connect.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, BASH, or YAML.
