The role in a nutshell

As a key member of our Platform team, this role offers an exciting opportunity to advance platform strategy, cloud automation, and developer experience at UNiDAYS.

You will collaborate closely with software engineering teams to identify improvements that enhance developer experience and engineer productivity. With a hands-on approach, you will work on optimizing system performance, reliability, scalability, security, and efficiency.

Our platform team also aims to remove barriers for other teams, enabling faster delivery through shared tooling. We focus on operational excellence, automation, and self-service capabilities.

We seek a commercially-minded Platform Engineer capable of building resilient, cost-effective solutions and staying abreast of technological trends. If you lack some skills but are eager to learn, we encourage you to apply.

Day to day responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy cloud services using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Collaborate with software engineers to understand how platform engineering can add value and support their cloud needs
• Identify new technologies and drive improvements across our platform and tooling
• Create and enhance self-service capabilities for software teams
• Monitor platform performance, focusing on SLIs and SLOs, with an SRE mindset
• Define, improve, document, and implement best practices continually
• Participate in on-call rotations approximately once a month, with a simple runbook in place

What we need from you

• Strong cloud knowledge with hands-on experience in AWS services
• Experience with ECS and managing clusters across multiple environments
• Knowledge of security, networking, CDN, load balancing, and storage solutions
• Understanding of CI/CD practices across various environments
• Development experience in core languages such as C#, Python, and TypeScript

Nice to have

• AWS/Terraform certification
• Database administration experience (MSSQL, RDS, DynamoDB, Neptune, Redshift)
• Experience mentoring or sharing knowledge with other engineers
• Knowledge of containerization
• Operational experience in incident resolution and RCA
