Job description

We are looking for brilliant engineers to join our team at Magentic. We’re pushing the boundaries of AI with next-generation agentic systems that can manage entire workflows. We’re focusing on a three trillion dollar market of supply chains and procurement.

We are searching for passionate engineers who will architect, build, and operate the cloud-native backbone that powers our agentic AI products. This role involves bringing our agentic workers to a diverse user base across the procurement and supply chain industry. You’ll own everything from infrastructure design and automated delivery pipelines to observability and security, ensuring our systems are resilient, scalable, and cost-efficient for the world’s largest supply-chain organisations.

Tasks

In this role, you will:

• Design and evolve our multi-cloud platform (Azure and AWS) using infrastructure-as-code and GitOps best practices.
• Build and maintain high-throughput Kubernetes clusters (EKS) with secure networking, service mesh, policy enforcement, and self-service tooling for application teams.
• Craft robust CI/CD pipelines that deliver containerised services from commit to production with automated testing, security scanning, and progressive roll-outs.
• Implement end-to-end observability—metrics, traces, logs, and alerts—so engineers and customers alike can trust the health and performance of our agentic workers.
• Champion platform security: secrets management, zero-trust networking, least-privilege IAM, image provenance, and compliance-ready audit trails.
• Collaborate closely with AI & product engineers, shaping runtime environments, data pipelines, and workflow orchestration for large-scale model serving.
• Continuously improve reliability and cost efficiency through chaos testing, capacity planning, performance tuning, and proactive incident response.

Requirements

You May Be a Good Fit if You Have :

• Core technical expertise in the following domains:

• Cloud Infrastructure Mastery (AWS, Azure): deep understanding of IAM, networking, storage, and compute services.

• Containerization & Orchestration: expert in Docker, Kubernetes (EKS/GKE/AKS), Helm, and GitOps tooling like ArgoCD or Flux.

• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, with modular, DRY patterns; policy-as-code via OPA/Conftest/Terragrunt.

• CI/CD Pipelines: building and maintaining secure, scalable pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.) with automated testing, linting, security scanning, and deploy gates.

• Monitoring & Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, OpenTelemetry, ELK stack; designing end-to-end visibility into systems.

• Security Best Practices: secret management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager), image scanning, least privilege access, zero trust networking.

• Auditing & Policy Enforcement: integrating runtime policies, access controls, and system-level logging (SIEM-friendly formats).

• Backend Engineering Strengths in the following areas**:**

• Strong Language Proficiency: advanced in Python, Go, or Java with clean code principles, test coverage, and performance awareness.

• Service Architecture: experience building and operating high-availability, distributed systems (microservices and event-driven).

• API Design: REST and gRPC, with versioning, throttling, auth, and schema validation (OpenAPI, Pydantic, Protobuf).

• Datastores: deep knowledge of RDBMS (PostgreSQL/MySQL), NoSQL (DynamoDB, Redis, Cassandra), and storage optimization techniques.

• Asynchronous Processing: familiarity with task queues (Celery, Sidekiq, SQS, Kafka consumers), cron orchestration, and idempotency.

• Developer Experience (DX): creating internal platforms/dev portals, reusable templates, paved paths, and golden standards.
