Job summary

Hunter Bond is seeking an experienced engineer to join a team building and maintaining critical data infrastructure. You’ll work across software development, platform engineering and reliability to develop tools and systems for data-intensive environments.

This hands-on role focuses on Python-based tooling, automation and platform improvements, with opportunities to optimize pipelines, containers and cloud infrastructure while taking ownership of reliable, scalable systems.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial software engineering experience, with strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience building software, data pipelines or tooling within a complex, data‑intensive environment.
• Familiarity with platforms, infrastructure or containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes; deeper expertise is not essential.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, a practical problem‑solving mindset and an interest in reliability, automation and scalable systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve Python-based tools, services and systems supporting large‑scale data processing workflows.
• Build and maintain platform capabilities, automation and tooling to improve system reliability, performance and operational efficiency.
• Work with databases, containerised environments and modern infrastructure to support robust, scalable engineering solutions.
• Contribute to platform support and continuous improvement, collaborating with engineering teams to investigate issues and strengthen system resilience.
