Job summary

Thorntons Law LLP is seeking a Platforms, Networking & Cloud Lead to steer hosting, cloud, and networking strategy. You will lead a team, shape the technology foundation, and partner with IT leadership to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure across the firm.

You'll drive modernization, manage risk, and influence supplier relationships while coaching staff and sharing knowledge across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience in senior technical roles covering platform engineering, hosting, server operations, cloud and networking.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure, hybrid and private cloud, and enterprise networking.
• Experience leading complex technical programs, risk assessment and supplier management.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform engineering, hosting, servers, storage, virtualization and related services to ensure availability, security and documentation.
• Design, plan and maintain Microsoft Azure, private cloud and hybrid infrastructure, enabling cloud adoption and modernisation.
• Provide senior technical leadership across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN and secure connectivity, with focus on Zero Trust environments.
• Drive resilience through advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and durable solutions.
• Oversee security, risk, assurance, budgeting, procurement and supplier performance to deliver value.
