Job summary

Synergize Consulting Ltd is seeking a Platform Applications Engineer on a contract basis with hybrid working in Wiltshire. The role focuses on end-user platform applications, Windows 11 environments and enterprise desktop management.

You will work with VMware Horizon, Intune and Active Directory to design, build and maintain images, automate tasks with PowerShell, and collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to meet high standards.

Responsibilities

Design, build, configure and maintain end-user platform applications and services.
Manage Windows 11 client environments, ensuring they are secure, stable and fit for purpose.
Use VMware Horizon to build, manage and maintain desktop images and virtual desktop environments.
Develop and maintain Windows desktop images, including application packaging, configuration and optimisation.
Manage endpoint configuration, policies and application deployment through Microsoft Intune.
Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory, including users, groups, computers, Group Policy and related services.
Support the deployment, configuration and life cycle management of end-user applications.
Investigate and resolve complex issues across the desktop and application platform.
Work with security teams to ensure endpoint and platform configurations meet required security standards.
Contribute to platform upgrades, technical improvements and life cycle management.
Produce and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures and configuration standards.
Work closely with infrastructure and application teams while maintaining a clear focus on the platform and end-user layer.
