Express Recruitment are proudly supporting an established Engineering firm in their recruitment of a Plater/Steel Fabricator to join their growing team.

You will be tasked with working on a range of large fabrication projects for a range of customers.

The successful candidate will be met with a competitive hourly rate of up to c£14.95. Additional benefits include 33 days holidays, free company workwear, overtime available (time and a half on Saturdays and double pay on Sundays), early finish on Fridays, non-contractual KPI production bonus and onsite parking.

Responsibilities

• Assist wider production team with the manufacturing and fabrication of large steel structures, ensuring quality standards and procedures are met
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and assembly diagrams
• Assist with various Welding tasks as outlined by the Production Manager
• Take responsibility for visual checking fabricated parts to ensure specifications have been met
• Conduct various shopfloor tasks including flame cutting, grinding and tack welding
• Assist with the operation of assisted lifting equipment to transport large fabrication parts safely across the site ready for dispatch
• Report quality issues to Line Manager
• Work towards daily and weekly KPI targets set out by the Line Manager

Skills & Background

• Demonstrable experience working in heavy structural steel fabrication
• Proven experience working as a Plater
• Well versed with Health & Safety regulations and policies
• Flexible with site installation work when required

Vacancy Summary

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:25am-3:55pm & 7:30am-1:30pm on Friday

Salary: c£14.95 per hour DOE + Overtime
