Job summary

Responsibilities

Ascertain job requirements from drawings or specifications.
Mark out and develop profiles on plate and steelwork.
Produce templates for marking and drilling.
Produce angled fabrications using bending machinery.
Form rolled steel sections using section rolling machinery.
Set out plate work for fabrication.
Produce and install structural steelwork fabrications.
Produce and install plate work assemblies.
Produce and install heavy steelwork beams.
Produce and install structural lattice girders.
Use manual metal arc welding for fabrications.
Use cutting machines for profiles.
Operate overhead crane safely.
Carry out Stand-by and fire watch duties.
Adhere to all safety requirements.
Use Oxy/fuel hand burning equipment.

Contract type: Fixed term until 13/11/2026 approx.

Start date: 04/09/2026 - Dependent on CTC clearance status.

Salary: £23.45 per hour NAECI Rates.

Key Responsibilities

To ascertain job requirements from drawings or other specifications.
To mark out and develop profiles on plate, structural steelwork and pipework.
To produce templates for marking and/or drilling.
To produce angled fabrications using bending or folding machinery.
To form rolled steel sections using section rolling machinery.
To set out plate work for structural steelwork fabrication.
To produce and install structural steelwork fabrications.
To produce and install plate work assemblies of square, rectangular, cylindrical or conical form.
To produce and install heavy steelwork beams or sections.
To produce and install structural lattice girders.
To use manual metal arc welding to weld fabrications or structural steelwork.
To use straight line and profile cutting machines.
To operate overhead crane in a safe manner using basic slinging.
To carry out Stand‑by and fire watch duties.
To adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment.
To use Oxy/fuel hand burning/heating/cutting equipment.
To use all relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements including all relevant training and certification requirements.
