Job summary

Dutton Recruitment in the United Kingdom is seeking a Plater for a permanent position based in Sheffield. Immediate start available (subject to interview process).

The Plater will work in a busy steel fabrication environment, carrying out fabrication and assembly work to a high standard, reading engineering drawings, measuring and marking out, fitting and assembling steel components, and using a range of hand and workshop tools. Safety and quality are essential.

Job description

We are looking for a Plater for a permanent position based with our client in Sheffield

Immediate start available (subject to interview process)

Rate of pay £18.00 per hour for basic hours

The successful Plater will be working within a busy steel fabrication environment, carrying out fabrication and assembly work to a high standard.

Duties will include:

• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Measuring, marking out and preparing steel components
• Fitting and assembling steel structures and components
• Using a range of hand and workshop tools
• Working closely with welders and other members of the fabrication team
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to specification
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience as a Plater / Fabricator Plater
• Strong experience working within a steel fabrication environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Confident with measuring, marking out and fitting
• Good attention to detail and quality
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant fabrication experience and qualifications would be advantageous
• NVQ Level in Plating or Fabrication and Welding would be expected.
