Job summary

Bec Recruitment in Irlam, Greater Manchester, is seeking a Structural Steel Plater for a permanent, long‑term role with a globally recognised bridge and structural steel contractor. You will work on iconic projects across the UK, starting early and maintaining steady daily output.

Hours are 6am–2pm, five days a week, with time‑and‑a‑half on overtime and additional overtime on Sundays. The position rewards reliable performance with strong earning potential through overtime.

Qualifications

• Time-served Plater (Apprentice trained / NVQ Level 3)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Heavy plate experience preferred

Job description

Job Title: Structural Steel Plater (Full-Time)

Location: Irlam, Greater Manchester

Hours: 5 days | Monday to Friday, 6AM - 2PM

Salary: £19.32 per hour

Contract: Permanent, Long-Term

Essential Requirements

• Qualifications:Time-served Plater (Apprentice trained / NVQ Level 3).
• Technical Skills: Highly competent and confident working from technical/engineering drawings.
• Experience: Heavy plate experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with complex structural steel fabrications.

Overtime & Benefits

• Time-and-a-half (1.5x): Paid for extra weekday hours and Saturdays.
• Double-time (2x): Paid for Sundays.
