Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking experienced Platers to install structural steel support systems on a large industrial construction project at Hinkley Point. You will read GA drawings, set out work to tight tolerances and join a site installation team to deliver quality installations.

Required qualifications include NVQ Level 3 in Plating and a valid CSCS/CCNSG safety passport, with overtime opportunities and site health, safety and welfare commitments for long-term work.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Plating or equivalent.
• Valid CCNSG, CSCS or recognised equivalent safety passport.
• Proven experience working from General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Experience setting out and installing steelwork to tight tolerances.

PLATERS - HINKLEY POINT

An excellent opportunity for skilled Platers to join a specialist engineering consultancy on Hinkley Point.

Our client provides mechanical engineering, steelwork installation and industrial construction services to a range of highly regulated sectors across the UK. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking additional Platers to support a key installation project, with opportunities for ongoing work upon successful completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Platers looking to secure long-term work on large-scale industrial projects with a well-established engineering contractor.

Hinkley Point

Hourly Rates:

Basic: £28.29 - £30.58

Overtime A: £39.61 - £42.82

Overtime B: £50.93 - £55.05

Overtime A: Monday – Thursday (After 8 hours of Basic Pay) / Friday (After 6 hours)

Overtime B: Saturday (After 4 hours of Basic Pay / All hours on Sundays)

Allowances:

• Travel and Lodge allowances in line with the applicable industry agreement.

Role:

We are currently seeking experienced Platers to carry out the installation of structural support systems on a large industrial construction project. The successful candidates will be confident working from engineering drawings, setting out accurately and completing installations to strict tolerances while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install structural steel support systems in accordance with engineering drawings.
• Read and interpret General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
• Set out and install work to specified tolerances.
• Work effectively as part of a site-based installation team.
• Adhere to all site health, safety and quality procedures.
• Complete work to a high standard within agreed project timescales.

• NVQ Level 3 in Plating or equivalent.

• Experience setting out and installing steelwork to tight tolerances.

Working Pattern:

• Minimum 100 hours worked over an 10-day rotation.
• Additional overtime available, with the opportunity to work in excess of 108 hours over the same period.
