Job summary

Morson Talent is seeking Platers in Belfast, BT3, for upcoming projects spanning naval, marine and repair sectors.

Responsibilities include manual or machine steel fabrication, reading drawings, setting out, cutting, and assembling steel structures. On-site work requires operating cranes and oxy-fuel burning. Accommodation and transport arrangements are not provided; starts from 21/09 and BPSS clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret fabrication drawings.
• Set-out/mark-off work to precise tolerances.
• Cutting and fabrication of structural steel (plate & profile).
• Erect, align, set and tack steel parts and assemblies in Shops or Dock environment.
• Operate steel fabrication machinery and shop cranes.
• Hand burning using oxyfuel equipment.

PLATERS WANTED! - BELFAST

We're anticipating Plater opportunities in Belfast (BT3) and are currently getting ahead of the curve for candidates who may be interested.

Location: Belfast, BT3
Role: Platers
Anticipated starts: From 21/09
Rate: £24.20 per hour + £8 per hour travel allowance (TA is only paid for candidates who live 39 miles or more from site!)
Immediate starts anticipated

Job Description

Manual or machine steel fabrication to form individual components and the subsequent assembly of those components to form assemblies, units and blocks, and ship structures. Projects will cover a range of steel structures across the naval, marine, and repair sectors and the role will require flexibility between New-Build structural steel fabrication and Ship Repair projects.

We're looking for:

• Maintenance of a Safe working environment

• Cutting and fabrication of structural steel, (plate & profile sections)
• Erect, align, set and tack steel parts and assemblies in Shops or Dock environment
• Working of steel fabrication machinery and shop cranes

Please note: Candidates will be responsible for arranging and covering their own accommodation and transportation.

All successful candidates will most likely be required to complete BPSS security clearance as part of the onboarding process.
