Job summary

Navantia Belfast is seeking skilled plater welders for a six-month rolling contract based in Belfast, BT3. Starts from 21/09 with umbrella options and a rate of £24.20 per hour plus £8 travel allowance; TA paid for candidates living 39 miles or more from site.

You will work on manual or machine steel fabrication, interpreting drawings and fabricating components for naval, marine, and repair projects. The role requires flexibility between new-build structural steel and ship repair, safe working

Job Description

Manual or machine steel fabrication to form individual components and the subsequent assembly of those components to form assemblies, units and blocks, and ship structures. Projects will cover a range of steel structures across the naval, marine, and repair sectors and the role will require flexibility between New-Build structural steel fabrication and Ship Repair projects.

We're looking for:

• Maintenance of a Safe working environment
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings
• Set-out/mark-off work
• Cutting and fabrication of structural steel, (plate & profile sections)
• Erect, align, set and tack steel parts and assemblies in Shops or Dock environment
• Working of steel fabrication machinery and shop cranes
• Hand burning using oxyfuel equipment

Please note: Candidates will be responsible for arranging and covering their own accommodation and transportation.

All successful candidates will be required to complete BPSS security clearance as part of the onboarding process
