Job summary

MDE-Group is recruiting for a Plater / Fabricator in Belfast to join a major shipbuilding project with Navantia UK. The assignment runs for approximately 3-4 months, with potential progression to a longer-term programme as work expands. Expected duties include heavy fabrication, reading drawings, and assembly in a shipyard setting.

Experience in heavy engineering or marine fabrication is preferred. Onboarding and security clearance are required to start, with competitive PAYE rates and

Qualifications

• Strong Plater / Fabricator / Steelworker experience.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Structural steel fabrication experience.
• Candidates must be able to complete onboarding and security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Fabrication and assembly of structural steel.
• Read and work from engineering drawings.
• Marking out, cutting and forming steel components.
• Fabrication of brackets, supports, walkways and gratings.
• Structural modifications and installation work.
• Tack welding, grinding and preparation work.
