Job summary

EDF Energy Limited is seeking a Welder Category B ("CS with Certificate") to work with ENKA UK on the Hinkley Point C Project. You will weld carbon steel components and assemblies, including pressure parts, tubes, pipes, and supports, following WPS parameters and strict safety rules.

The role requires experience in large-scale industrial projects, knowledge of BS EN welding codes, ability to pass ISO 9606-1 tests, and a commitment to zero-harm safety on site.

Qualifications

• Equivalent welding apprenticeship or welding qualification as per A/B/C criteria.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in large-scale industrial projects.
• Knowledge of BS EN welding codes, techniques and methods; familiar with TIG/MMA.
• Ability to pass ISO 9606-1 welder qualification tests.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Weld carbon steel components and assemblies including pressure parts, tubes, pipes, plates and supports.
• Weld or tack-weld per WPS parameters and maintain safe, clean work area.
• Follow safety regulations and nuclear site requirements; zero harm mentality.
• Inspect welds visually and report any faulty operation or materials.
• Advise on adjustments at scaffolding and assist welding supervisor as needed.
