Job summary

Proactive Global is recruiting a Plastic Vacuum Forming Technician in Sudbury, Suffolk, to join a well-established manufacturing business. You will set up vacuum forming machinery, load materials and moulds, and monitor production to ensure quality and efficiency.

• Prepare and setup vacuum forming machinery for daily production.
• Load correct materials, tooling and moulds for each run.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust to achieve consistent results.

• Identify production issues and report or resolve minor faults.
• Carry out routine housekeeping and basic preventative maintenance on machinery and work areas.
• Accurately complete production documentation and quality records.

Position: Plastic Vacuum Forming Technician

Location: Sudbury, Suffolk

Proactive are currently recruiting for a Plastic Vacuum Forming Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business.

As a Plastic Vacuum Forming Technician, you will play an important role within the production team, manufacturing high-quality plastic components using vacuum forming machinery. You will be responsible for ensuring products are produced efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and set up vacuum forming machinery for daily production requirements
• Select and load the correct materials, tooling, and moulds for each production run
• Monitor machine performance throughout the manufacturing process, making adjustments where necessary to achieve consistent results
• Complete in-process quality checks to ensure products meet customer specifications
• Identify production issues and report or resolve minor equipment faults where appropriate
• Carry out routine housekeeping and basic preventative maintenance on machinery and work areas
• Accurately complete production documentation and quality records

Skills:

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience operating vacuum forming machinery or similar production equipment is advantageous
• Good practical skills with the ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products
• Ability to follow work instructions, technical specifications, and production procedures
• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Flexible approach to supporting different production areas when required
