Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking a Plastic Vacuum Forming Technician for a position in Sudbury, Suffolk. The role involves preparing and operating vacuum forming machinery to manufacture high-quality plastic components, ensuring safe, efficient production and adherence to quality standards.

You will select materials, tooling and moulds, monitor performance, and perform in-process checks while maintaining documentation and basic machine maintenance. A hands-on, reliable team player is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing environment is essential.
• Experience operating vacuum forming or similar equipment is advantageous.
• Good practical skills with hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to follow workmanship instructions and specifications.
• Reliable and able to work independently or in a team.
• Flexible in supporting different production areas when required.

Responsibilities

Position: Plastic Vacuum Forming Technician

Location: Sudbury, Suffolk

Proactive are currently recruiting for a Plastic Vacuum Forming Technician to join a well-established manufacturing business. As a Plastic Vacuum Forming Technician, you will play an important role within the production team, manufacturing high-quality plastic components using vacuum forming machinery. You will be responsible for ensuring products are produced efficiently, safely, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up vacuum forming machinery for daily production requirements
• Select and load the correct materials, tooling, and moulds for each production run
• Monitor machine performance throughout the manufacturing process, making adjustments where necessary to achieve consistent results
• Complete in-process quality checks to ensure products meet customer specifications
• Identify production issues and report or resolve minor equipment faults where appropriate
• Carry out routine housekeeping and basic preventative maintenance on machinery and work areas
• Accurately complete production documentation and quality records

Skills

• Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Experience operating vacuum forming machinery or similar production equipment is advantageous
• Good practical skills with the ability to use hand and power tools safely
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products
• Ability to follow work instructions, technical specifications, and production procedures
