Job summary

Howells Recruitment is sourcing a Plasterer / Multi-Trader for a mobile role across Barnet and surrounding North West and West London areas. You will join a reactive maintenance team in social housing properties and travel between properties daily, delivering plastering and general maintenance to a high standard.

The position offers a £50,000 annual salary plus company van and a fuel card, with permanent, full-time employment and a requirement to work one Saturday or Sunday per month paid at the

Responsibilities

• Undertake minor rendering and external making-good works as needed.
• Carry out general multi-trade tasks (carpentry, tiling, painting).
• Diagnose faults and select appropriate repair solutions.
• Deliver high-quality work and keep properties clean and tidy.

Job Title: Plasterer / Multi-Trader

Location: Barnet (Covering Barnet, Camden, Wembley, Westminster, Harrow, Ealing, Hounslow & Hammersmith)

Salary: £50,000 per annum + Company Van & Fuel Card

Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Plasterer / Multi-Trader to join a well-established reactive maintenance team, carrying out repairs and maintenance works within occupied social housing properties across Barnet and the surrounding North West and West London areas.

This is a mobile role covering Barnet, Camden, Wembley, Westminster, Harrow, Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith, so candidates must be comfortable travelling between properties throughout the working day.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out a range of plastering and reactive maintenance works within occupied residential properties.
• Completing patch plastering, skimming and making good following repairs.
• Repairing damaged walls and ceilings, including filling cracks, holes and damaged areas.
• Carrying out preparation work prior to plastering, including removing damaged materials and preparing surfaces.
• Completing minor rendering and external making-good works where required.
• Undertaking general multi-trade repairs including basic carpentry, tiling, painting and decorating.
• Diagnosing faults and identifying the most appropriate repair solution.
• Completing remedial works to a high standard and ensuring properties are left clean and tidy.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, professionally and in line with company standards.
• Delivering excellent customer service while working within residents' homes.
• Managing your own workload and completing jobs within agreed timescales.
• Taking ownership of jobs from first visit through to completion.

Successful Applicants Will Be Expected To:

• Consistently achieve strong KPI performance, with a typical target of a minimum of 7 completed jobs per day.
• Maintain excellent quality inspection scores.
• Demonstrate outstanding reliability and timekeeping.
• Use PDA and mobile technology systems correctly.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Take ownership and responsibility for all allocated jobs.
• Ensure all works are completed to a high standard and properties are left clean and tidy.

Experience & Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Proven experience as a Plasterer / Multi-Trader within reactive maintenance or social housing.
• Strong plastering experience, including patch repairs and skimming.
• Experience working within occupied residential properties.
• Good general maintenance skills, ideally including basic carpentry, tiling and painting.
• Ability to carry out making-good works following repairs.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage workloads effectively.
• Full UK manual driving licence (no automatic vans available).
