UK Atomic Energy Authority in Culham is seeking a Plasma Exhaust Physicist (2 years FTA) to perform experimental analysis on tokamak devices and help design the STEP exhaust solution. You will run high-fidelity edge simulations using SOLPS and EDGE2D, focusing on SOL broadening and impurity transport.
The role requires onsite work three days a week with flexible working, and includes a Specialist Allowance and a strong pension. BPSS/DBS clearance is required.
The salary for this role is £48,290(inclusive of a Specialist Allowance) . Onsite working is expected for 3days a week, however, we actively support requests for flexible working.
This role can be based at any of the following sites: Culham, Oxfordshire.
This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions and possibly a search of open source data.
