Job summary

Bamford Collection is seeking a Plants Supervisor to lead the plant department within our Daylesford Farm team, ensuring plants are well presented, cared for, and accompanied by excellent service.

You will work with the Plant Manager to guide daily operations, train staff, and maintain high standards in housekeeping and safety, while delivering an engaging shopping experience for customers.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for plants, gardening, and the natural world.
• Deliver outstanding customer service, sharing expert advice on plant selection and care.
• Able to maintain exceptionally high standards and tidy displays.
• Thrives in a hands-on role both indoors and outdoors through seasons.
• Enjoys working collaboratively with others in a team.
• Physically capable of lifting and moving plants and products up to 25kg.
• Experience in a garden centre, nursery, or retail setting is desirable.
• Holds a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Care for and maintain a wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants, ensuring they are healthy and beautifully presented.
• Deliver outstanding customer service, sharing expert plant advice.
• Assist with plant deliveries, stock replenishment, pricing, and merchandising displays.
• Support local plant delivery services and seasonal department changes.
• Help oversee stock accuracy, transfers, waste management, and in-house planted arrangements.
• Support the Plant Manager with daily operations and team supervision.
• Lead by example, training and developing team members while maintaining high service standards.
• Ensure housekeeping, health and safety, and maintenance standards across the department.

About The Role

• Has previous experience in a garden centre, nursery, or retail setting (desirable).
• Holds a full UK driving licence.

• The on target earning potential for this role is £31,200 per annum based on a 40-hour contract - comprising a base earnings of £28,371.20, plus a qualified estimate of £3,000 in gratuities and service charge. Please note this role is paid hourly so this is a projected salary and OTE.
