Job summary

Jarvie Plant is seeking a Labourer to support our yard operations, ensuring equipment and facilities are maintained and ready for hire. You will help keep plant machinery, accommodation units, and lorries clean, and assist with basic checks and daily tasks.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety compliance at all times, following company policies and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the yard, ensuring it is safe, tidy, and well-presented.
• Wash and clean all plant machinery and accommodation units where required.
• Clean lorries and field service vans when necessary.
• Prepare machines for hire, including carrying out internal cleaning, fuelling, and basic checks.
• Complete picking lists by selecting and allocating stock items.
• Check off hired machines on return, including inspecting for damage, recording fuel levels and meter readings, and completing required paperwork.
• Assist with basic handyman repairs and general site maintenance as required.
• Ensure bins are emptied and waste is managed appropriately.
• Collaborate with plant fitters, apprentices, drivers, and customers to maintain a positive and productive working environment.
