Recruit Mint Ltd in the countryside near Ely is seeking a hands-on Plant Technician. This outdoor role suits practical people, with a four-on, four-off, 12-hour shift pattern.

You will keep plant and machinery running across a renewable energy operation, performing service, repair, maintenance, installation, fault-finding and inspection on motors, engines, augers, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and valves.

Qualifications

• Experience as an all-round industrial or agricultural Plant Technician.
• Mechanical experience across motors, engines, augers, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and valves.
• Strong fault-finding and investigation skills.
• Confidence working at height and outdoors in all weathers.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out repairs and maintenance in line with schedules.
• Performing service, repair, maintenance, installation, testing, inspection and fault-finding to a high standard.
• Working on motors, engines, augers, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and valves.
• Operating plant machinery such as tele-handlers and forklifts; keeping accurate maintenance logs on a handheld tablet.
• Working safely and to high standards, adhering to health and safety practices.
• Carrying out ad hoc duties to keep the operation running smoothly.

Plant Technician

If you would rather be outdoors and hands-on than stuck behind a desk, this is the role for you.

This is a Plant Technician role with a growing renewable energy business near Ely, on a four-on, four-off shift pattern.

As a Plant Technician you will keep the plant and machinery running across a growing renewable energy operation, working on the equipment that turns organic waste into clean energy. It is varied, genuinely hands-on work, service, repair, maintenance, installation, fault-finding and inspection, on a four-on, four-off, 12-hour shift pattern. Be clear on one thing: this is an outdoor role, with up to 90% of your time spent outside across operational plant areas, often at height and in all weathers. If you are a practical, resilient technician who likes different problems every day and takes pride in keeping things running, no two days here will be the same.

Job Responsibilities

• Carrying out repairs and maintenance in line with the schedules set by the maintenance managers
• Performing service, repair, maintenance, installation, testing, inspection and fault-finding to a high standard
• Working on motors, engines, augers, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and valves
• Working outdoors and at height across operational plant areas, in all weather conditions
• Operating plant machinery such as tele-handlers and forklifts, with training providedKeeping accurate maintenance records using company logging systems on a handheld tablet
• Working safely and to a high standard at all times, adhering to health and safety best practice
• Carrying out ad-hoc duties to keep the operation running smoothly

Skills and Experience

• Proven experience as an all-round industrial or agricultural Plant Technician
• Mechanical experience across motors, engines, augers, conveyors, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and valves
• A strong background in service, repair, maintenance and installation
• Solid fault-finding and investigation skills
• Confidence working at height and outdoors in all weathers
• Experience driving plant machinery
• A full UK driving licence and full right to work in the UK
• A tele-handler or forklift ticket, which is desirable
• Cherry-picker experience, which is desirable
• Welding experience would be an advantage

Pay and Benefits

• A salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience
• A four-on, four-off, 12-hour shift pattern with overtime available
• 6am to 6pm
• 28 days annual leave, including public holidays
