Job summary

Bio Capital is seeking a proactive Maintenance Technician to provide first-line maintenance at a large-scale renewable energy facility in the UK. You will perform mechanical and electrical fault finding, manage PPMs via a CMMS, and support stock and contractor RAMS processes while ensuring safety and environmental standards.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering qualification or apprenticeship, GCSEs in maths/English, and a track record in heavy industry with fabrication/welding skills.

Qualifications

• UK driving license.
• GCSEs including Maths and English.
• Engineering qualification, apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Time served Technician with heavy industrial background.
• Experience with mechanical and fluid handling equipment and processes.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical repairs and fault finding in heavy industry.
• Microsoft Teams and SharePoint experience/training.
• Fabrication and welding competency.
• Knowledge of AD and gas generation.

Responsibilities

• Provide first line maintenance to a large-scale renewable energy facility to minimise downtime.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on process pumps (Mono, Wangen, Grundfos, DODA).
• Repair mechanical sorting equipment.
• Maintain gas handling equipment including blowers, compressors, upgrading units and filtration systems.
• Carry out full site PPMs and manage inspection regime using a software-based CMMS.
• Perform fault finding with mechanical, electrical and C&I methods and document findings.
• Support stock management and procurement; manage RAMS and permits to work for contractors.
• Assist plant operators with processing as required.

Contract:

Permanent, full-time.

Shifts:

40 hours per week, 8 hours per day between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00

Summary:

To provide first line maintenance to a large-scale, renewable energy facility. This role will ensure downtime is reduced or eliminated and complete preventative maintenance in order to meet the company KPI’s and budgets.

Responsibilities:

Ensure high levels of Health, Safety and Environmental practice with a duty of care to yourself and others.

Maintain and operate the plant following policy and procedure

First Line Maintenance and Repairs

• Carry out repairs and maintenance on process pumps including Mono, Wangen, Grundfos and DODA units.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on mechanical sorting equipment.
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on a variety of gas handling equipment including blowers, compressors, upgrading units and filtration systems.
• Carrying out full site PPM’s and managing the inspection regime with a software-based CMMS system
• Carrying out repairs by deploying fabrication and welding equipment.

Fault Finding, Diagnosis and Reporting

• Perform mechanical, electrical and C&I fault finding on a variety of process equipment using a mixture of conventional techniques, SCADA analysis, PLC fault finding and PID diagrams.
• Write job cards and fault reports to a high standard using Microsoft Office applications.

Other Responsibilities

• Assist the senior engineer with stock management and procurement
• Management of contractors including RAMS review and issue of permit to work.
• Key contributor to the delivery of on-site capital projects
• Assist plant operators with processing as and when required.

Qualifications & Experience

UK driving license.

GCSE level, including Maths and English.

Engineering qualification. Apprenticeship or equivalent.

Time served Technician with a heavy industrial background

Experience of mechanical and fluid handling equipment and processes

Experience and knowledge of mechanical and electrical repairs and fault finding in a heavy industry

Microsoft Teams and SharePoint experience/training.
